The Center of Autonomous Vehicle Technology (CAVTech) at Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah is a national initiative established to lead Malaysia's advancement in autonomous systems.
A National Mandate for Innovation
In 2020, the Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (JPPKK) appointed PSAS as the lead institution for the Autonomous Vehicle domain under the national 4IR Flagship initiative. This mandate tasks us with becoming the primary center for reference, training, research, and development in the field for all of Malaysia.

Ts. Dr. Norazam bin Aliman
Project Lead / Mechatronics Engineering Expert
With a PhD in Mechatronics Engineering and over a decade of service at PSAS, Ts. Dr. Norazam leads the CAVTech initiative. His expertise in robotics, control systems, and autonomous vehicle integration is the driving force behind our flagship projects, including the development of the PSAS Parcel Robot and the Autonomous Preve.
Dr. Maznah binti Iliyas Ahmad
Research & Development Lead
Dr. Maznah is a key figure in our research efforts, specializing in sensor fusion algorithms and machine learning applications for autonomous navigation. Her work has been published in numerous international journals.
Shahrolnizam bin Mohkhtar
Lead Engineer
Shahrolnizam brings years of industry experience to the team, managing the hardware integration and maintenance of our autonomous fleet. He is an expert in ROS and embedded systems.
Dr. Mohd Izwan bin Shaharuddin
Software Architect
Dr. Izwan architects the software stack for our autonomous vehicles, focusing on creating robust, scalable, and safe control systems using Autoware and custom-developed modules.
Mohd 'Afiq bin Murad
Programmer & System Integrator
Mohd 'Afiq is a skilled programmer at the heart of our software team. He specializes in developing and integrating the core software components that allow our autonomous vehicles to perceive and react to their environment, turning complex sensor data into actionable driving decisions.
Ninie Farahana Binti Kamarulzaman
Higher Education Officer (Project Secretary / Administrator)
Ninie is the organizational backbone of CAVTech, managing project timelines, coordinating with partners, and ensuring the smooth administrative flow of our research and development activities. Her efficiency is key to our team's success.
Abdul Qoyum
Mechanical Design Engineer
Qoyum specializes in the mechanical design and fabrication of components for our autonomous vehicles. He plays a crucial role in retrofitting our fleet with custom mounts for sensors and compute hardware, ensuring robustness and reliability.
Eliza Binti Shamsudin
Higher Education Officer (Research & Innovation)
Eliza Binti Shamsudin is a dedicated Higher Education Officer serving at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Politeknik Sultan Azlan Shah (PSAS). She plays a key role in supporting academic development, research, and innovation initiatives. Her work focuses on coordinating programs related to engineering education and autonomous technology advancements.
